Harry and Friends Black Belt Principles premiered its first program at the Martial Arts Super Show in 2007. Focused on effectively communicating life skills and character education to the industry’s youngest students,  Harry and Friends Black Belt Principles released “Harry’s First Martial Arts Lesson” on DVD.  The program was a professionally produced animated program designed to teach self discipline, respect and concentration to 3-6 year olds starring Harry an energetic 6 year old lizard and his martial arts instructor. It was a tremendous success and soon was being distributed by over 500 martial arts schools in 5 countries. School owners found it to be a very powerful enrollment tool!  The Coalition for Quality in Children’s Media and the Dove Foundation both endorsed Harry’s First Martial Arts Lesson, giving it rave reviews!

The company followed up “Harry’s First Martial Arts Lesson” with an award winning sequel called “Harry Gets into the Swing of Things-A Lesson in Perseverance” The First DVD focused on how exciting your very first martial arts lesson could be. The second focuses on teaching the importance of never giving up and setting a goal of earning a black belt. Helping young children understand the benefits of training long term this episode was developed as a renewal tool. Submitted to the Florida Motion Picture and Television Associations Annual Crystal Reel Awards for Review, the second episode earned Six Crystal reel awards including Best Animation and Best Direction in a Children’s Program.  It also receives Five out of Five Doves from the Dove Foundation.

The company’s latest innovation is a complete character education system that bridges the communication gap with your youngest students. Ever try to give a mat chat on an abstract concept like Self discipline to a group of 4-5 year olds? Young children have real difficulty wrapping their mind around abstract concepts. They learn visually through example. The creators of Harry and Friends Black Belt Principles, with the help of leading child psychologists and educators, developed a visually based character education system using their colorful cartoon characters and matching mat chats designed to hold the attention of young children. Subscription to the program gets participating school owners 48 colorful visual aids, mat chats, coloring sheets and copies of the company’s award winning animated DVD’s to build enrollments and retention.
